Cooking with Tea at San Francisco Tea Festival Saturday, February 25th

I am pleased to participate in the first annual San Francisco International Tea Festival on Saturday, February 25, from 10 am-5 pm at the Ferry Building. I will be doing a cooking class using locally grown selected from the morning’s farmer’s market. The class is free and open to the public and takes place in the market’s outdoor kitchen space at 11:45 am. At the end of the class (samples of what I cook will be offered to attendees), signed copies of my book Cooking with Tea will be available for sale by Book Passage (www.bookpassage.com), the wonderful bookstore at the Ferry Market.

Admission to the tea festival is $20. per person (go to www.sfinternationalteafestival.com to pre-register), and upon entering, attendees will get a take-home porcelain cup for sampling teas at the show. In the afternoon, on the show floor, I will be sampling out a green tea Japanese noodle dish using Ito-En’s sencha and then showing how to prepare a tea flavored chocolate mousse. Lectures and demos about tea brewing, sourcing and cooking with tea are all included in the admission fee. Hope to see you there! Come to say hello!
