October 3 and 4 Cooking and baking with tea, Northwest Tea Festival, Seattle

I will be presenting at the Northwest Tea Festival in Seattle; preparing dishes, both savory and sweet, that make full use of whole leaf premium tea. There, I will have the pleasure of reconnecting with my old (read as “young”) friend, Ken Rudee, owner of Seattle’s own Barnes and Watson Fine Tea.  (www.barnesandwatson.com) This tea festival in a seriously tea-drinking city, attracts an impressive roster of tea experts and tea vendors, and an audience of the tea-obsessed and those thirsty to learn more about this varied beverage, the second most popular drink in the world, after plain water. Entry is FREE to the public, with a suggested donation of $5 which buys you a mug with which you can take a tasting journey of all of the tea growing regions of the world as you amble your way through the show.

Over the course of two days, I will be preparing several dishes, both in the tea tasting booths and on the main demo stage on the show floor.
